Change Of Plans: FIM Grand Prix Commission Bans Aerodynamic Wings In Moto3 Effective Immediately

FIM Grand Prix World Championship 

Decision of the Grand Prix Commission 

The Grand Prix Commission, composed of Messrs. Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna, Chairman), Ignacio Verneda (FIM CEO), Herve Poncharal (IRTA) and Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA), in an electronic meeting held on 11th May, made the following decision. 

Technical Regulations 

Effective Immediately 

Aerodynamic Wings – Moto3 Class 

In March of this year it was agreed that aerodynamic wings in the Moto2 class would be banned immediately. It was also agreed that wings would be banned in the Moto3 class from 2017. 

Following a unanimous proposal from all Manufacturers in the Moto3 Working Group, the Grand Prix Commission have confirmed that the ban on aerodynamic wings in the Moto3 class will now be effective immediately.
