AMA ANNOUNCES CLASS CHANGES FOR 2007 PROSTAR DRAG RACING PICKERINGTON, Ohio (Dec. 21, 2006) Following the announcement of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) assuming management of drag racing from Prostar, the AMA is pleased to announce a new class structure beginning with the 2007 racing season. “In my proposal to both the AMA and Prostar stockholders on how to continue drag racing after moving to my new role of Road Race Director for AMA Racing, I committed to developing an improved class structure that was more conducive to today’s market,” said Keith Kizer, former President and CEO of Prostar. In 2006, Prostar had thirteen classes plus one exhibition class. In 2007, there will be ten classes, plus one exhibition class. There will be four Pro classes: Top Fuel and Funnybike (8-bike fields), Pro Mod and Pro Street (16-bike fields). Pro entry fees will be $250 aligning drag racing with other professional motorcycle sports. There will be two Semi-Pro classes: Super Street and SuperSport. There will be a total of four Sportsman classes: Top Gas (8.20), Super Comp (9.20), Pro ET, and Street ET with the addition of the Super Eliminator exhibition class at selected events. Kizer points out that Super Comp is being re-indexed from 9.90 to 9.20. Street ET will now be a full points and contingency paying class. All four Sportsman classes will have guaranteed payouts regardless of bike count. Due to the transition from Prostar to AMA it is expected that a new rules package will be released by the middle of January and the rulebooks delivered by mid-February. The entire rulebook will be released in a PDF format as soon as it is available. For more information concerning these and other class rules visit the Prostar website after January 15, 2007 at www.amaprostar.com .
