Sussex, WI (August 25, 2008) – The Red Flag Fund held its second annual charity auction at Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, IL, on Saturday, August 23rd, to benefit seriously injured motorcycle roadracers. The auction itself raised $10,319, while donations, merchandise sales and a portion of the dinner ticket sales pushed the total amount raised during the weekend to more than $13,000. The money generated during the Blackhawk Farms CCS Midwest Region/ASRA Team Challenge race weekend will be used to operate the Red Flag Fund, which provides financial assistance to injured roadracers throughout the United States. “The second annual Red Flag Fund Auction was a great event by all accounts. We had a raucous and fun crowd of around 200 people, with 85 registered bidders competing for 175 items supplied by 50 donors,” said Red Flag Fund President Jeffery Kufalk. “On behalf of the Red Flag Fund board of directors, I’d like to thank Blackhawk Farms Raceway, CCS/ASRA, all of our generous donors and bidders and hard working volunteers for their support of the auction.” A full list of donated items and the money they raised during the Red Flag Fund Auction will be posted to www.redflagfund.org by the end of the week. Red Flag Fund, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable company formed to provide financial assistance to seriously injured motorcycle roadracers, as well as educate motorcycle riders on the importance of proper safety gear.
