By Dennis Noyes Chris Peris crashed near the end of World Supersport free practice at Silverstone on Friday morning and opened a deep gash in his right forearm that required stitches to close. He was declared unfit by the medical center and was unable to take part in the final Saturday qualifying and could not ride in the race. Peris was 10th-fastest in the opening free session on his Bikersday Moto 1 Yamaha YZF-R6, his best performance to date in his first full season of World Supersport.
