Christopher “Chris” Renee Avina, 26, of North Hills, California, was killed while riding his motorcycle home from the AFM races at Buttonwillow Raceway Park on March 16.

According to a local news report, Avina was traveling on southbound I-5 when he struck a semi-truck and crashed. He died as a result of the injuries he sustained in that crash.

According to race suspension tuner Chris Lessing, Avina worked for bodywork manufacturer Taylor Made Racing and was at the racetrack visiting teams using Taylor Made Racing products.

According to Lessing, Chris Avina is survived by his parents Valentin and Yolanda Avina, his brother and best friend Marin Avina, his sister Casey Avina, and his girlfriend Sherry Tyndall.

Update: A memorial service has been scheduled at Del Angel Funeraria, 5940 Van Nuys Blvd., Van Nuys, CA 91401, at 11:00 a.m. on March 31.
