CMRA SUPPORTS WERA WITH AIRFENCE AT NOLA EVENT In a collaborative effort between racing organizations, the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) supplied seven 30-foot sections of Airfence soft barriers and the manpower to deploy it at the recent WERA National/Regional event at NOLA. CMRA Director of Competition Walter Walker realized the need for soft barriers in the Turn 16 area following the recent AMA Pro Racing test at the facility, and offered the use of the CMRA’s supply of Airfence (obtained through the Roadracing World Action Fund) to adequately cover the area during the WERA races on Saturday and Sunday. Founded in 1974, the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) is an independent, non-profit organization with over 750 members. The CMRA organizes and promotes motorcycle road races throughout the South Central region of the United States. The many world and national champions who began racing with the CMRA include Colin Edwards, Danny Eslick, Nicky Hayden, Roger Lee Hayden, Tommy Hayden, Jamie James, John Kocinski, Sam McDonald, Jeff Nash, Ricky Parker, Doug Polen, Kevin Schwantz, Freddie Spencer, Ben Spies and Britt Turkington.
