CMRA Travels to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit This Weekend This coming weekend, May 17-19, 2013, the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) returns to action at beautiful Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. Located just outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma, this will be the only stop for the CMRA this season at the challenging 1.8 mile, counter-clockwise 11-turn road course. The weekend’s activities begin Friday with an all day CMRA racer practice and CMRA License school beginning at 8:00 a.m. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. and pre-registration is not required. Saturday’s schedule includes a full slate of Mini sprint races followed by the 4-Hour Mini Endurance race and concludes with the first ever Solo 30 race and the second round of the wildly popular Team 60 event complete with a Le Mans-style start. The Solo 30 is a 30-minute solo sprint race with each rider doing the full race stint on one race bike. The Team 60 is a one hour race consisting of two riders, riding their own sprint bike with a mandatory transponder-swap pit stop at the 30 minute mark. There is a mandatory riders briefing at noon for both the Solo 30 and Team 60, and practice from 2:10-3:00. The Solo 30 race will run at 3:10, and the Team 60 will run from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. A meet and greet party gets going at the end of the day during the Trophy Presentation in the Mike Stephens Memorial Winner’s Circle. Sunday’s schedule is jam-packed with a full day’s worth of exciting and competitive Big Bike sprint races. Qualifying for Sunday’s premier race, Formula 1 Expert, will be at the conclusion of Sunday morning practice and the race is the last event before the lunch break. The race and qualifying are sponsored by 212Decals.com, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and P1 Racing. A total purse of $16,500 is available to be paid out to the top Formula 1 Expert finishers over the course of the 2013 season. A portion of each entry fee is donated by the CMRA to Breast Cancer Research…$1400 to date. There has been a lot of participation from CMRA Expert racers, who are excited to help support such important research! Live timing and scoring is available for all the races via the Race Monitor App on mobile devices and online at cmraracing.com/timing.html . Keep up with the action if you can’t make it out to the track! Gates open each day at 6:00 a.m. and we race rain or shine! Weekend entry into the event is only $20 on Thursday or Friday, $15 on Saturday, and just $10 on Sunday. Tickets are good for the entire weekend. Ride your street bike to the event and you’ll pay just $5 for entry on either Saturday or Sunday! Kids 12 and under are free. A spectator lap of the track will be conducted during the lunch break on Sunday, schedule and weather permitting.
