This coming weekend, August 22-24, 2014, the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) will be tearing up the track at MotorSport Ranch in Cresson, Texas. The track is located 14 miles south of Fort Worth on Highway 377. MotorSport Ranch is composed of two road courses: a 1.7-mile, 11-turn track and a 1.3-mile, 6-turn track, although only the 1.7-mile track will be utilized this weekend.

The weekend activities begin at 7:00 a.m. Friday with a CMRA License school, racer practice and street-rider track day provided by Lone Star Track Days (www.lstd.com).

Saturday’s schedule begins with a full slate of Mini and Lightweight Sprint races, including the Four81 Motos-sponsored Grom Challenge, OnRoad OffRoad Racing-sponsored Formula 5, and Rainbow Sox Racing-sponsored Junior Motard class for the youngest racers, ages 8-12 years old. The MotoMassage.com-sponsored Solo 30 Ultra-Lightweight race is up next, followed by the fifth round of the CMRA Championship Endurance Series, a 6-hour race, which begins promptly at 12:30 p.m. A trophy presentation and trackside racer/spectator Meet and Greet party is a welcome finish to the full day of racing.

Sunday’s schedule is jam-packed with a full day’s worth of competitive Big Bike sprint races. Among the exciting classes not to be missed is the Breast Cancer Research Foundation / P1 Racing Formula 1 Expert class. In addition to a cash purse totaling $11,000 paid out to the top Formula 1 Expert finishers over the course of the 2014 season, a portion of each entry fee is donated to Breast Cancer Research. A few of the other weekend purse paying classes include, 212Decals.com – A Superbike Expert ($150), Team Mancuso Powersports SW – B & C Superbike ($300) and Houston Superbikes – HW Twins ($150).
