CMRA at MotorSport Ranch This Weekend

The Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association is back at MotorSport Ranch, just south of Fort Worth, Texas on Highway 377 this coming weekend August 18-20, 2017. This is the last of three rounds at this track this season, and the 1.7 mile course will be run in the clockwise direction.

The weekend’s activities begin Friday with an all-day CMRA racer practice and CMRA License school beginning at 8:00 a.m. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. and pre-registration is not required. Post-entry for the races is available at the track beginning 6:30 am Friday, August 18. At the end of the day, following the conclusion of practice, will be a Happy Hour in Tech sponsored by B&J’s Austin Motorcycle Parts.

Saturday’s schedule begins with a full slate of Mini and Ultra Lightweight Sprint races, including the North LA Lawn & Landscape – Formula 8 for the youngest racers, ages 8-12 years old, and The Bike Doctors – 500 Classic for the heavyweights of the lightweight divisions, followed by the Solo 30 races. The fourth round of Championship Endurance begins promptly at 12:35 p.m. with a 6-hour race, featuring the classes of Promomin Oils / Repsol – Superbike, Superstock, Antic Screen Printing – Formula 2, and Modern Classic Endurance. A trophy presentation sponsored by Leather & Lace Racing Leather Repair and trackside racer/spectator Meet and Greet party sponsored by B&J’s Austin Motorcycle Parts is a great finish to the day’s racing.

Sunday’s schedule is jam-packed with a full day’s worth of competitive Bridgestone/CMRA Championship Sprint races. Among the exciting classes not to be missed is the Century Trucks and Vans – Formula 2 Expert class, along with 212Decals.com – A Superbike Expert and South Central Race Center – C Superstock Expert. In addition, a cash prize of $100 is put up by P1 Racing for the first 600cc machine to cross the line in the Metric Garage/CVC – Formula 1 Expert race. Another purse paying classes includes: RaceworX – A Superstock Expert ($165), and MotorSport Ranch – B Superstock Expert and Novice sponsored classes offer a one day guest member pass to the Ranch for two lucky random draw winners.

There is live timing and scoring available for all the races via the Race-Monitor App on mobile devices and online at cmraracing.com/timing.html.

Gates open each day at 6:00 a.m. and we race rain or shine! Weekend entry into the event is only $20 on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and just $15 on Sunday. Tickets are good for the entire weekend. There is a $5 wristband refund for participants leaving Saturday night – turn in your wristband at the gate as you leave. Ride your street bike to the event and you’ll pay just $5 for entry on both Saturday and Sunday! Kids 12 and under are free. A spectator lap of the track will be conducted during the lunch break on Sunday, schedule and weather permitting.
