CMRA Racing at NOLA Motorsports Park This Weekend

This weekend, March 10-12, 2017, the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) is back in action at NOLA Motorsports Park, located in Avondale, Louisiana. This will be the only stop for the CMRA this season at the very fast 2.75 mile, clockwise 16-turn road course with a 3360 foot long front straight. A full schedule of events can be viewed here: http://www.cmraracing.com/content.php?15-2016-Sch…

The weekend’s activities begin Friday with an all-day CMRA racer practice and CMRA License school beginning at 8:00 a.m. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. and pre-registration is not required. Post-entry for the races is available at the track beginning 6:30 am Friday, March 10.

Saturday’s schedule begins with a full slate of Mini and Ultra Lightweight Sprint races, including the Aces High Racing Formula 5 and North LA Lawn & Landscape Formula 8 classes for younger racers, and The Bike Doctors 500 Classic for the heavyweights of the lightweight divisions.

The second round of Ultra-Lightweight Endurance begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. with an 8-hour race, featuring the classes of Formula 4, Road & Track Suspension E Superstock, ULW GP, 500 Classic, and Von Hertell Racing Services 500 Superstock. This is the first time the Ultra Lightweight Endurance will be racing the full course at NOLA, and with an average grid of 35 teams, should prove to be an exciting race! A trophy presentation sponsored by Leather & Lace Racing Leather Repair and trackside racer/spectator Meet and Greet party sponsored by B&J’s Austin Motorcycle Parts is a great finish to the day’s racing.

Sunday’s schedule is jam-packed with a full day’s worth of competitive Bridgestone/CMRA Championship sprint races. Among the exciting classes not to be missed is the Century Trucks and Vans – Formula 2 Expert ($225), 212Decals.com – A Superstock Expert ($150), and South Central Race Center – C Superbike Expert ($165).

A full list of sponsored classes and payouts can be found here: http://www.cmraracing.com/attachment.php?attachme…

Live timing and scoring is available for all the races via the Race Monitor App on mobile devices and online at cmraracing.com/timing.html . Keep up with the action if you can’t make it out to the track!

Gates open each day at 6:00 a.m. and close at 10:00 p.m. We race rain or shine! Weekend entry into the event is $30 on Thursday or Friday, $25 on Saturday, and just $20 on Sunday. Tickets are good for the entire weekend. Ride your street bike to the event and you’ll pay just $10 for entry on either Saturday or Sunday! Kids 12 and under are free. A spectator lap of the track will be conducted during the lunch break on Sunday, schedule and weather permitting. Bring your cooler or visit the restaurant located in the NOLA Motorsport Park Event Center.
