CMRA Comes to Texas World Speedway This Weekend

This weekend, June 16-18, 2017, the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) heads to Texas World Speedway near College Station, Texas. It’s CMRA’s first stop of two season events at the historic super speedway’s 2.9-mile, 15 turn course.

The weekend’s activities begin Friday with an all-day CMRA racer practice and CMRA License school beginning at 8:00 a.m. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. and pre-registration is not required. Post-entry for the races is available at the track beginning 6:30 am Friday, June 16. At the end of the day, following the conclusion of practice, will be a Happy Hour in Tech sponsored by B&J’s Austin Motorcycle Parts.

Saturday’s schedule includes a full slate of Mini and Lightweight sprint races followed by Round 3 of the CMRA Championship Endurance with the 8 Hours of Texas Endurance race, featuring Promomin/Repsol Oils – Superbike, and Antic Screen Printing – Formula 2 classes. This is the most challenging and physically demanding endurance race of the season with guaranteed exciting, nail biting action! The race day concludes with an awards ceremony and the B&J’s Austin Motorcycle Parts-sponsored Happy Hour.

Sunday’s schedule is jam-packed with a full day’s worth of competitive Bridgestone/CMRA Championship Sprint races and a spectator lap at lunch time. This is also the Century Trucks & Vans – Formula 2 Expert Shoot Out – Round 2! Class sponsor Century Trucks and Vans will be paying to 10th place in the Formula 2 Expert class, Race #9 on Sunday. Payouts are as follows: 1st $750, 2nd $500, 3rd $300, 4th $200, 5th $100, 6th $75, 7th $50, 8th $30, 9th $20, 10th $10. Get yourself on a Formula 2 legal bike and get in on the winnings! Prize money will be awarded at the lunchtime podium on Sunday immediately following the P1 Racing / Metric Garage/CVC – Formula 1 Expert race.

There is live timing and scoring available for all the races via the Race-Monitor App on mobile devices and online at http://www.cmraracing.com/timing.html. Keep up with the action if you can’t make it out to the track!

Gates are open Thursday from 6-10 p.m. for camping and set-up. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, gates open at 6:00 a.m. and we race rain or shine! Weekend entry into the event is only $20 on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, and just $15 on Sunday. Tickets are good for the entire weekend. There is a $5 wristband refund for participants leaving Saturday night – turn in your wristband at the gate as you leave. Ride your street bike to the event and you’ll pay just $5 for entry on both Saturday and Sunday! Kids 12 and under are free. A spectator lap of the track will be conducted during the lunch break on Sunday, schedule and weather permitting.
