CMRA Coming to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit this Weekend
This weekend, May 13 – 15, 2016, the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) heads to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit near Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the Second Annual Westby Classic. The round is named in honor of CMRA racer Dane Westby, who was fatally injured in a street crash earlier last year. This will be the first stop for the CMRA this season at the challenging 1.8 mile, counter-clockwise 11-turn road course.
The weekend’s activities begin Friday with an all-day CMRA racer practice and CMRA License school beginning at 8:00 a.m. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. and pre-registration is not required. Post-entry for the races is available at the track beginning 6:30 am Friday, May 13.
Saturday’s schedule includes a full slate of Mini and Lightweight sprint races followed by 6 Hour Ultra-Lightweight Endurance featuring the Road & Track Suspension 500 Supersport, E Superstock, The Bike Doctors 500 Classic, and Altus Lawton Motorsports Ultra Lightweight GP Endurance classes, and concluding with Round 2 of the Dunlop/Race Tire Service Team 60 races. There will be a podium awards ceremony and a meet and greet at the track immediately following the Team 60 races.
Sunday’s schedule is jam-packed with a full day’s worth of competitive Big Bike sprint races. Among the exciting classes not to be missed is the M4 Exhaust/P1 Racing – Formula 1 Expert class, and the Century Trucks and Vans – Formula 2 Expert class with the winners going to the lunchtime podium.
Brand new for this weekend, Georgetown Diesel and Complete Automotive has stepped up to sponsor the Formula 40 HW Expert class with a cash purse, and Formula 40 MW Novice class with discount certificates for the remainder of the season. Additionally, the “Racers Race” award will be started this weekend, and is $50 plus a commemorative t-shirt given to the competitor that overcame the most obstacles to compete during the weekend.
