CMRA: Redline Racing Wins ULW Endurance Race At MSR Houston

Redline Racing Takes Overall at CMRA 2020 Season opener at MSR Houston!

The CMRA kicked off its 2020 Race Season this past weekend at MSR Houston. Saturday morning’s CMRA Championship Sprints started under clear skies and cool temperatures. Walter Walker III picked up the first of five top five finishes for the weekend with a win in D Superstock Expert aboard an SV650. Damian Falcon took the win in D Superstock Novice also on an SV650.

Alex Soto scored a big win in the Junior Motard class with his Yamaha TTR110.

The Raceworx A Superstock Expert race started what turned out to be a weekend long battle between #91 JC Camacho, #69 Doug Frenchack, and #62 Alan Phillips. All three riders on Kawasaki ZR-10Rs were all into the mid 1:30s despite of the cool track temperatures. JC Camacho came out on top with a best time of 1:33.883 with Frenchack close behind in second and Phillips in third.

#18 Luis Gouveia took the win in Solo 30 Heavyweight Expert and #812 Jeff Foushee grabbed the Novice division win. #291 Brandon Altmeyer picked up the win in Solo 30 Middleweight Expert with #555 David Gonzalez taking first place in the Novice division.

The Solo 30 Lightweight Expert win was collected by # 789 Steven Smith and #555 David took the Novice win. #240 Shawn Treadaway took the Solo 30 500 Superstock Expert win with #169 Hayden Bicknese coming home in first place in the Novice class.

The final race of the day was the 4 hour CMRA Ultra Lightweight Endurance Season Opener. 26 teams started the race. Defending Champion #1 Redline Racing completed 108 laps to capture the Overall win and first place in the Von Hertell Racing Services 500 Superstock Class. # 7 TMP Motorcycle Parts took second Overall and second in 500 Superstock. #19 Village Idiots rounded out the top three Overall with 107 laps and third place in 500 Superstock. All of the top three teams were on Kawasaki ZX400s. in the 500 Classic class #50 RACN Relics took the class win and 17th overall with 90 laps riding a Kawasaki EX500. #2 HBR Racing picked up the win in the 300 Superstock Class and 8th place overall with 103 laps aboard their Yamaha YZF-R3. #55 Purple helmets was the 250 Superstock class winner and 15th overall with 95 total laps riding a Kawasaki EX250.
