AMA Racing Vice President Ken Rogers, who was in charge of AMA road racing and motocross/supercross, resigned from the organization last week. He wanted his resignation to be effective after Daytona, but was told that if he was leaving, Friday would be his last day. “I wanted to stay on until after Daytona because I felt a responsibility to make sure things went well since we have a pretty green staff going into that race,” Rogers said Saturday. Rogers, who had been AMA Pro Racing Director of Timing and Scoring prior to becoming a Vice President, was promoted in October, 2006. AMA had not issued any statement and a phone call to an AMA spokesman seeking comment had not been returned at post time.
