BIG WEEKEND FOR LCR HONDA AT MISANO

This weekend is special in many ways for the LCR Honda Team, as the squad looks forward to one of its busiest events of the season at the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera. For this special occasion the Honda RC213V’s no. 35 will be dressed in the historic Castrol livery for the first time this year. (The partnership between the LCR Team and Castrol has been renovated on a solid technical base thanks to the high quality lubricants Castrol Power1 range that ameliorate the performances of the Honda RCV engines. The iconic partnership between Castrol and Honda is dated back to the 1959 and during six decades of racing competitions count copious successes).

Meanwhile, Cal Crutchlow is set for his 100th grand prix start, and as he approaches the ton-up milestone, the Briton is experiencing a purple patch in the MotoGP World Championship. Crutchlow has taken more points than any other rider over the last four races, with second place in the last round at Silverstone added to his second in Germany and maiden race victory in the Czech Republic.

As such, confidence is at an all-time high, and whilst the tight Misano circuit might not necessarily suit the current set-up of the Honda, recent successes have proved that the LCR Honda Team has everything at its disposal to fight with the best in the world whatever the obstacles thrown in its way.

#35 Cal Crutchlow

“Silverstone was great, the bike there was a little bit different to the one I have been riding and I have actually felt that I’ve ridden as well as that all year. Thankfully with a bit of momentum and a bit of luck you have to take the opportunities when they present themselves and we have done that.”

“Since my home race we have been out at our house in Italy relaxing a bit and I have been enjoying the weather whilst out cycling. However, I think this weekend in Misano will be a little bit more difficult than Silverstone. I have to be honest about that, this track doesn’t really suit the Honda as it is. As always I will try my best and give 100 percent, but I will be happy with a top six this weekend.”

“I’ve been evaluating the chassis we have been using for HRC, and in fact it was also available to the other riders, it’s just that it seems to suit my riding style a bit more. The factory guys used it before and found some positives and negatives, but it needs race miles and I decided to give it a go.”
