Another Scorching CSRA Superbike Shootout Anticipated for AFM Round 2 at Buttonwillow Raceway this weekend!

The venue remains the same and so will the battle for Vintage Superbike Supremacy as the summer continues to boil the central coast of California and particularly Buttonwillow raceway.

While other vintages clubs see dwindling numbers of entries, the AFM doesn’t seem to have that problem.  A full grid of Vintage Superbikes are expected for the CSRA Saturday Superbike Shootout at AFM Round 2 at Buttonwillow Raceway this weekend (Aug 8/9).  When others are trying to stay home during this unprecedented pandemic, it seems the Vintage Superbikes racers are unwilling to socially distance themselves from their motorcycles.

The temperature is expected to be in the low triple digits for most of the weekend.  It will come down to preparations of man and machine.  Who has been putting in the training and who can keep their air-cooled bikes from overheating during the scorching hot mid-day race.  Last time out, there were battles for position all throughout the field.  With a race under their belt, and some downtime during the last three weeks to make some changes, the pace at the front should be frantic.

During this abbreviated racing season, every position counts.  If you had a bad first round, you have probably dug yourself a deep points hole and as the old saying goes, “anything can happen.”  So, you need to keep the points leaders honest.     Don’t miss out!
