Make Your Move, Pardner, It’s Wild, Wild West Time: CVMA Ready To Kick Off Second Season At The Newest Road Racing Facility In The West The Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association kicks off its second season with a double-header race event on March 10-11, with new sponsors, new classes and more support for racers at the Southern California facility. In addition to its previous slate of sprint races and the only endurance series on the West Coast, CVMA has added an Open Twins GP class. Aimed at the medium- and large-displacement twins from Ducati, Buell, KTM and BMW, the class is designed to give those Twins racers an additional opportunity to experience the CVMA racing experience. Yamaha has stepped up to offer contingency for four CVMA race dates in the SuperSport Middleweight and SuperSport Open classes. Yamaha will pay $500 for a win, $250 for second and $100 for third, contingency upon all requirements for payout being met. For more information, visit: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/racing/RoadRace_Contingency.aspx . Ducati North America also will offer contingency for the CVMA series, backing the Open Twins GP, SuperSport Middleweight and Femmewalla classes with its 848 EVO contingency program. With all requirements for contingency met, a win on a qualifying 848 EVO in one of those three classes will pay $1,200 for a win, $600 for second and $300 for third. For more information, visit: http://www.ducatiusa.com/news/ducati_2012_848_sup_evo__sup__club_racing_contingency_program/2012/02/8/2373/index.do . Bridgestone and Dunlop have upped their support for the series in 2012, with Bridgestone paying $450 for a win in the Formula Twins (unrestricted modifications to 670cc) class. Pirelli and Michelin also are scheduled to be at the track and providing support for the series. Registration is available online, as are all membership forms required to sign up and race with the club. Applications may be mailed in, but must be received by midnight, Tuesday, March 6. Applications will be accepted at the track on Friday, March 9, and check-in and tech inspection will be available Friday evening. Chuckwalla Valley Raceway will also be offering dinner at the track on Saturday night. Camping is available. It is strongly recommended that racers pre-register and pre-enter their races, know the club’s class structure and rules. All information is available online at www.cvmaracing.com .
