Sunday Shootouts

In the premier race of the day, the Stock 1000 Shootout, Andrew Lee was able to lead into the first turn at the start and lead the first lap. Lee was followed closely by Corey Alexander and Bryce Prince. Alexander made an inside pass on the brakes going into turn ten to take the lead of the race on the second lap demoting Lee to second. Prince got past Lee for second on lap five a couple of laps later. On the eighth lap, Prince took the race lead and set about lowering the lap record for the class. Deon Campbell also made his way into third position getting around Lee. Campbell and Alexander then battled over the final two podium positions, trading the positions several times on the last two laps. In the end, it was Prince for the win, Alexander second, and Campbell third.

The Formula Lightweight Twins Shootout started with Nayden Balladares getting the hole shot and leading the first lap followed by Gio Alvarez and Gene Frerichs in second and third respectively. On the second lap, Alvarez past Baladares on the brakes into turn ten and that set the finishing order. At the finish Alvarez took the win, Balladares second and Frerichs third.

At the start of the Formula Ultra Lightweight Shootout, Treston Morrison led into the first turn with Alex George and Sawyer Lafayette following. On the 5th lap, Farrah “Bandit” Landers passed Lafayette for third. On the next lap, Landers gave the position back to Lafayette, but Morrison crashed out of the lead. At the finish, George won followed by Lafayette and Landers.

The final shootout race of the day, the Middleweight Shootout, was restarted due to a red flag after one lap complete. The race was shortened to nine laps and Corey Alexander led the way into the first turn at the start.
