Reactive Suspension is hosting a two day Data Logging and Data Analysis Course on the 21st & 22nd March at their training facility in York, United Kingdom. It is aimed at any club or national racer or mechanic who wants to learn how to use data to go faster, and improve setup.

The lead instructor is Bob Gray, crew chief to John Hopkins in Yamaha’s 2016 British Superbike Championship team. Bob has been involved with BSB teams for the last 16 years in the roles of technical advisor, data technician and crew chief. He has extensive knowledge of engine management systems and has also worked with a several of motorcycle based companies providing technical support and data analysis during product development.

Attendees on the course will learn how data loggers can help them optimise both rider and machine performance. There will be specific sessions on:

– How data loggers and sensors work

– Selecting parameters to ensure the most efficient use of the system

– Grouping channels to analyse performance in an easy-to-use format

– Practical exercises on gathering and analysing data

Gareth Evans of Reactive Suspension has developed the course with Bob after customers asked for more support than he could deliver in any weekend: “A number of riders wish that we could be at the track to help them analyse data, as they don’t understand how to use their bike’s system. Unfortunately it’s not physically possible for us to attend every event in the UK.”

The groundbreaking data course builds on Reactive Suspension’s unique suspension training workshops, which have proved extremely popular over the last four years. “Through attending our suspension courses a significant number of riders are now maintaining and tuning their own suspension,” says Gareth. “Working with Bob we are able to offer the same hands-on training in the field of Data Analysis.”
