Pirelli and David Anthony Capture First Track Record Bounty of 2019 with DIABLO™ Superbike Slicks

ROME, Ga. (May 3, 2019) – Pirelli Tire North America congratulates David Anthony on capturing the brand’s first absolute motorcycle track record bounty of 2019. Competing aboard a Kawasaki Ninja® ZX™-10R, Anthony’s accomplishment took place on Sunday, April 28 on the Classic Course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the A Superstock Expert race during the final round of the WERA West Regional Series.

“Aussie Dave [David Anthony] was setting the pace all weekend in Las Vegas,” said Oscar Solis, road racing manager, Pirelli. “He was the first rider to earn a Pirelli track record bounty in 2018, and the first again in 2019, so congrats to him. His lap record, consistency and race wins showed the true capability of the Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike lineup.”

Anthony set the impressive lap record of 1:14.836 while using Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike 120/70-17 SC2 front and 200/60-17 SC1 rear tires. In addition to the track record, Anthony took the checkered flag for three race wins in the A Superbike Expert, A Superstock Expert and Formula 1 Expert.

“The goal was to get a comfortable setup and put my head down in Las Vegas,” said Anthony. “It felt great to come out of the final WERA West round with three wins, but even better to take home a track record. It’s always a good feeling when you have the trust and confidence that I did in my DIABLO™ Superbike slicks today.”

Pirelli continues to offer a $750 tire voucher for setting a new motorcycle track record and Anthony’s efforts made him the first rider to earn the reward this year.
