A cash purse of $175,000 plus a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona wristwatch grand prize for the winner have been confirmed for the 79th running of the Daytona 200, which is scheduled to take place March 13, 2021 at Daytona International Speedway.

In the absence of an official announcement, Roadracingworld.com reached out to Kevin Elliott, President of ASRA, which co-sanctions the race along with AMA, to ask about the purse for the upcoming race.

Elliott confirmed the same $175,000 purse that has been posted for the last several years will once again be up for grabs in 2021. Plus, said Elliott, he is adding a special $1,000 cash prize for the top-finishing Canadian rider, “just because I know what they are going to have to go through [quarantine] to get back into Canada after the race.”

There will also be a special prize for the rider who qualifies on pole position, a brand new Arai Corsair X helmet, courtesy of Arai Helmet Inc.
