77th DAYTONA 200 Scheduled For Saturday, March 17

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (August 23, 2017) – The 77th DAYTONA 200, America’s most historic motorcycle race, is scheduled for Saturday, March 17, 2018 – the finale of Bike Week At Daytona International Speedway.

The American Sportbike Racing Association (ASRA)-sanctioned 57-lap race will once again be staged on the twist and turns of the 3.51-mile road course and showcase riders aboard 600cc sportbikes battling for a purse of $175,000. In addition to the winnings, the champion will also being awarded a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona. Qualifying for the DAYTONA 200 will take place on Friday, March 16 with the race going green the following day at 1 p.m.

Danny Eslick, from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, returns as defending DAYTONA 200 champion. In 2017, Eslick used a classic slingshot move coming out of NASCAR Turn 4 to pass Cory West on the last lap to secure his third DAYTONA 200 victory. Eslick also won the DAYTONA 200 in 2014 and 2015.

Similar to its four-wheeled brethren, the DAYTONA 200’s roots go back to the sands of Daytona Beach where they began racing on a 4.2-mile shoreline course in 1937 before moving the event to Daytona International Speedway in 1961 and incorporating the high banks of the “World Center of Racing.”

Tickets for the DAYTONA 200 are on sale now. Unreserved stadium seating/UNOH Fanzone and garage access is $45 in advance and $50 at the gate while unreserved stadium seating is only $35. Kids 12 and under are free. Tickets are also on sale for the kick-off event of Bike Week At Daytona International Speedway – the DAYTONA Supercross on Saturday, March 10.
