“Super” Carl Soltisz #620 and Matt Drucker, owner of MD Racing, are teaming up for the 2020 Daytona 200. Soltisz will be riding the Super C Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 on Dunlop tires with a MD Racing built and tuned engine.
This will be Super Carl’s fifth Daytona 200 having posted a previous best finish of 14th place in 2017. In addition to engine building, Matt Drucker is also serving as crew chief for Soltisz. Previous engines built by Drucker have gotten on the podium in the 200 before with Wyatt Farris riding to a third place finish in 2016 and Cory West taking second place in 2017.
Carl stated, “I couldn’t be more stoked to race in the Daytona 200 with MD Racing this year. I raced a MD Racing built engine at Daytona last fall in the CCS Race of Champions and it powered me to my best lap time there yet. After training hard all winter, I am more ready than ever to get back on the bike and fight up front in this iconic race. With Matt in my corner, I know I have a good shot at a winning this thing. I am super happy to have him on board along with returning experienced crew members Stefan Dolipski and Carl Prange.”
Matt commented, “I am very excited to have MD Racing represented by Super Carl in the 2020 Daytona 200. He is a talented and highly motivated racer. Working together, I am confident we will have our best result yet.”
Following the Daytona 200, Carl Soltisz will continue to campaign his Dunlop shod Yamaha YZF R6 with MD Racing engine in select MotoAmerica Supersport, ASRA Sportbike, and CCS Midwest races throughout the 2020 season.
