D&D Cycles Triumph has signed Steve Rapp and Miles Thornton to ride its Triumph Daytona 675Rs in AMA Pro Racing competition in 2014.
Thornton, who finished fourth in the 2013 AMA Pro SuperSport East Championship with one pole position and two podium finishes, will contest the entire AMA Pro SuperSport Championship.
Rapp, a former Daytona 200 winner and the reigning AMA Pro Harley-Davidson Champion, is currently only contracted to race in the Daytona 200 AMA Pro Daytona SportBike race, but D&D Cycles Triumph Team Owner Rob McLendon is hoping to secure Rapp’s services for the remainder of the 2014 season.
“I’m super excited,” McLendon told Roadracingworld.com in an exclusive interview Tuesday. “I think we have two guys who are obviously capable riders in their respective classes. I’m looking forward to some wins this year for D&D Cycles. This is kind of like a dream team for me because we have a veteran and an up-and-comer who never really had an opportunity to ride a top-shelf bike.”
