Bernat MARTINEZ, Spain (BIMOTA), 2:01.028 More, from a press release issued by JiR Moto2 Team: Friday’s first practice for the JiR Moto2 team at their home GP in Mugello has seen more vital time in the saddle for both riders, as they both seek improvements. They both rode for little more than 20 laps today ( 21 Pasini, 23 Corsi), with the aim of finding a base setting with which to approach tomorrow’s qualification and Sunday’s race. Simone Corsi – 16th time – 1’57″730 “Though I know Mugello, in today’s early laps I had some difficulties in finding the correct lines through the corners. I had to take a step back and re-learn the lines as these machines of the new Moto2 category seem to require a different interpretation of the track. However, I’m satisfied because the more I ride, the better I feel and this is a good sign. Today we concentrated on the set up: the front is solid and comfortable but the back slides a little more. Now, analyzing the data we’ll have to apply ourselves to find the best compromise to be even more competitive tomorrow.” Mattia Pasini – 13th time – 1’57″502 “I’m happy for how this practice session went. I made some steps forward to find the right feeling with the bike and I’m optimistic for tomorrow’s qualifying. Making a good time in the early laps gave me confidence, then differently from the other teams we decided not to change our tyres, instead our target for today was to find some confidence with the bike and set things up for tomorrow. We worked on the set-up testing different solutions and we have some good results. Now we must concentrate on qualifying so we start on the front rows.” The fastest rider of today’s practice session was Alex De Angelis with a time of 1’56″422.
