INTERWETTEN HONDA MotoGP TEAM: Grand Prix Ceské republiky The summer break is over and the MotoGP world championship will start its second half of the season next weekend in Brno/Czech Republic with the Grand Prix Ceské republiky. All classes will reunite in the Czech Republic after the MotoGP class had a single appearance in the United States before the summer break. Alex de Angelis will once again jump in for the injured Hiroshi Aoyama, who fractured a vertebra during a crash in the Warm up for the British Grand Prix in Silverstone and is now recovering from this injury at home in Barcelona. De Angelis likes the track in Brno and is especially looking forward to the official MotoGP test on Monday after the race, which he wants to use to get a better feeling with the Honda RC212V. On Wednesday prior the Grand Prix weekend De Angelis and his MotoGP Honda will have a performance in the streets of Vienna, where MotoGP will meet the city and the Austrian fans. As Vienna is the home city of Interwetten, the main sponsor of the Interwetten Honda MotoGP Team, De Angelis will also visit the head quarter of the company and meet and greet their staff members. Alex de Angelis: “I am happy that once again I am on the MotoGP Honda in Brno. Honda will give me some new electronic parts which will help to make the set up of the bike easier. The test after Brno will be very important for me to get a better feeling with the bike. Now there are at least two races remaining for me in MotoGP and I hope that they will be better than the two before. Brno is a very fast track and I like to go fast, so I hope I can get the team a better result.” Daniel M. Epp, Team Manager: “The first two races were full of set up work with the bike and Alex didn’t have much space for experiments. Brno is a fast and aggressive track, which suits Alex’s riding style. I hope that he can demonstrate better what he is capable of doing here.” The race weekend of the Grand Prix Ceské republiky will start on 13th of August with the First Free Practice of the 125ccm class and ends with the MotoGP race on 15th of August. All classes will reunite in the Czech Republic after the MotoGP class had a single appearance in the United States before the summer break. Tom Lüthi is looking forward to ride on the track in Brno after the relaxing summer break. He likes the racetrack in Brno especially because of its fast layout. The young man from Bern is sure that the result in Brno will continue his good form of the first half of the season and he hopes that another podium is waiting for him there. On Wednesday prior the Grand Prix weekend Lüthi and his Moriwaki MD600 will have a performance in the streets of Vienna, where MotoGP will meet the city and the Austrian fans. As Vienna is the home city of Interwetten, the main sponsor of the Interwetten Moriwaki Moto2 Team, Lüthi will also visit the head quarter of the company and meet and greet their staff members. Tom Lüthi: “I come back from the summer break and my holidays with new and necessary energy. I am fully recovered from my injury and I am completely fit again. I am looking forward to Brno as it is a fluent track, which I like. I think we should be able to fight at the top again and be part of the front group. A podium finish would be fantastic for Brno and this is also my target.” Terrell Thien, Team Manager: “Tom will attack fully recovered from his injury in Brno. At least one win should be the clear target for the second half of the season and I hope we can already fight for it in Brno. To be in the front group is realistic at least. During the summer break we worked on the bike as well and made some modifications together with Becker Carbon and Gilles Tooling, which I hope will suit Tom.” Daniel M. Epp, Rider Management: “Tom really needed this summer break after his injury earlier on this season. In Brno he will be fully fit and recovered to start the second half of the season. He is full of energy and he likes Brno, this mixture should get Tom back to success very fast and he will be able to continue the season as strong as he was in the first half of it.” The race weekend of the Grand Prix Ceské republiky will start on 13th of August with the First Free Practice of the 125ccm class and ends with the MotoGP race on 15th of August. All classes will reunite in the Czech Republic after the MotoGP class had a single appearance in the United States before the summer break. Marcel Schrötter will rider for the second time in Brno, as last year he took part in the race with a wild card ride. Therefore the 17 years old Rookie is not new on the track and could already gain some experience there, what he hopes will give him some advantage. Like at the last race at the Sachsenring circuit, where he was intermittent second in the race, he needs this advantage to earn more important championship points. Marcel Schrötter: “It is the second time for me at the Brno track and I have to say I like this fast track. I know the track already so I hope I can have a better result. Sachsenring was a good motivation for me and I want to turn this motivation in more championship points. I hope I can achieve this goal.” Terrell Thien, Team Manager: “Brno is a track Marcel knows. I think the last race gave him the necessary motivation and Brno will keep motivating him even further, as he knows what is waiting for him there. Marcel is riding with fun again and this is very important. I expect from him that he earns some more points in Brno and I hope that he keeps the fun riding. Marcel rides the only Honda on the field, but that is no disadvantage for him and never was.” The race weekend of the Grand Prix Ceské republiky will start on 13th of August with the First Free Practice of the 125ccm class and ends with the MotoGP race on 15th of August.
