SUNNY conditions greet De Puniet as he attempts to bounce back Estoril, 02 October: Randy de Puniet and his LCR Honda MotoGP Team arrived on the blustery Atlantic coast this week, ready for the Portuguese Grand Prix at the Estoril circuit which host the second-last European GP of the calendar. Just a few kilometres from the most westerly point in Europe, weather can be changeable at the challenging track which is hit by some powerful ocean winds but the LCR Honda MotoGP Team racer Randy De Puniet is not worried about the forecast because is determined to bounce back after the left ankle fracture. The Frenchman riding the Honda RC212V, who signed for LCR Team in 2010, had 3 weeks off after Misano race and recovered completely from the injury he suffered two months ago. The 28-year-old can rely on good experience at Estoril where he has previously stood on the podium three times in the 250cc class and he is hoping for yet another positive performance aboard his machinery. De Puniet: “This break helped me a lot in recovering from the ankle fracture. I feel better now and can finally race at 100 per cent. In the last two weeks I practiced a lot of sport to be fit for the rest of the season and my ankle is responding well. During the night it’s still a bit swollen but I am not worried about that. The Estoril track is not one of my favourites because it does not suit to my riding style but with four races to go I must do my best to score as many points as possible. Our target is to qualify in the top eight every race. After the new agreement with LCR for the 2010 I feel more relaxed and can concentrate in the final part of the championship.”
