Motegi, 25 September 2008: As the MotoGP World Championship enters the final stretch of flyaway races before its finale in Valencia, Twin Ring Motegi will host the fifthteenth event of 2008 calendar this week end. The Japanese circuit is situated about 90km/s north-east of Tokyo and will be celebrating its 10th successive year of GP racing. The track features a sequence of tight hairpin corners, linked by short drag-strip style straights. LCR Honda MotoGP racer Randy De Puniet, who got the second place here last season, aims to repeat the positive performance of last Indianapolis GP’s practice sessions when the 27-year-old set impressive lap times both in wet and dry conditions. The Frenchman aboard the Michelin-shod Honda RC212V will do the best to be a strong performer at HRC home race despite a small fracture of the ulnar styloid of right wrist due to the Misano crash. De Puniet: “After the crash in Misano I had an X-ray and everything seemed to be ok even though the right wrist ached a lot. I took some painkillers in Indianapolis especially in the wet but when I came back to Europe I deciced to repeat the x-ray. I had a small fracture but think won’t be a big problem for the rest of the season thanks to the Clicnica Mobile cooperation. Last year I gained the second place here and like this track very much”.
