FIM e-Power International Championship in Albacete Thijs de Ridder victory ahead of Bettis After a dominant qualifying, Belgian Thijs de Ridder (Team Crystalyte Europe) took the second race of FIM e-Power International Championship held as curtain-raiser of Albacete 8 Hours, in Spain. He topped the first ever series winner in an electric power series Thomas Betti, and his father Luciano Betti. Both Italians race Luciano Betti’s bikes. Betti is involved in electric power for ten years. FIM e-Power is also a family affair for Thijs de Ridder as his bike is designed by his father. It includes two lithium battery units in a Yamaha TZ250 frame. Jef de Ridder runs a company dedicated to electric powered bikes. German Rainer Kopp (Münch RT) took the finish line on fourth in the same lap. Christian Amendt (Epo-Bike RT) finished at the bottom of the classification due to a transmission problem. Race after race, those bikes develop quickly as their performances do. De Ridder lapped 1’54.544 as best performance with top speed worth to 175 km/h. FIM e-Power International Championship standings after two rounds: 1. Thomas Betti (ITA/Betti Moto) 45 points 2. Rainer Kopp (GER/Munch RT) 33 points 3. Christian Amendt (GER/ Epo-Bike RT) 27 points 4. Thijs de Ridder (BEL/Crystalyte Europe) 25 points 5. Luciano Betti (ITA/Betti Moto) 16 points
