American rider Jason DiSalvo will race a GP Tech-backed FTR M210 as a wild card entry in the FIM Moto2 World Championship race August 27-29 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. DiSalvo got written confirmation today from the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), the FIM National Federation in America, that his wild card entry (along with fellow American Roger Hayden) had been officially granted, according to DiSalvo’s father Jim DiSalvo. DiSalvo’s effort will be managed by former racer and GP Tech owner Geoff Maloney. Earlier this year, GP Tech was announced as the new U.S. distributor for FTR MOTO products, and in that same announcement the company expressed its intention to field an American rider as a Moto2 wild card at Indianapolis.
