Graves Motorsports Yamaha’s Eric Bostrom earned the AMA Superstock pole position with a new lap record time of 2:13.674 on his Dunlop-shod YZF-R1 LE during qualifying Saturday at Road America, in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Bostrom’s effort ended his teammate Jason DiSalvo’s streak of 12 consecutive AMA Superstock pole positions. DiSalvo had problems with both of his qualifying tires in Saturday’s session and ended up fourth-fastest with a 2:14.607. Bostrom and DiSalvo’s teammate Jamie Hacking, the current AMA Superstock Championship leader, qualified second with a lap of 2:13.955. Sandwiched between the Graves Motorsports Yamahas on the front row on Sunday will be defending AMA Superstock Champion Aaron Yates, who qualified third with a 2:14.567 on his Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000. Yates was the previous Superstock lap record holder at Road America with a time of 2:15.048.
