The 2013-model Kawasaki ZX-10R that Direct Motorsports Racing (DMS Racing) planned to have Nico Ferreira race in the AMA Pro Superbike Championship was stolen last night from Direct Motorsports located at 8650 NW 58th Street, Doral, Florida, near Miami. The bike’s VIN is JKAZXCJ14DA016787 and its engine number is ZXT00JE013151. Anyone with information about the theft or the stolen bike is asked to contact the Doral Police Department, call (305)785-9068 or (305)718-8882, or e-mail [email protected]. DMS Racing is offering a reward of $5000 for the return of the motorcycle, according to a press release issued by the team. Updated: DMS Racing’s Rod Alves e-mailed Roadracingworld.com today to report that Nico Ferreira’s 2013 Kawasaki ZX-10R AMA Pro Superbike had been recovered by the Doral Police Department February 19. Alves reported that the bike had apparently been ridden and crashed, but the damage was not significant and would not prevent their team from making it to Daytona for the 2013 season-opener. Alves also wanted to thank everyone who helped spread the word about the stolen motorcycle.
