This spring Oakley will launch four new exclusive editions of sunglasses specially designed in different rider colours and branded with the MotoGP logo, further confirming Oakley’s strong association and affinity with the MotoGP series. Oakley has also extended its deal with Dorna Sports as eyewear supplier to MotoGP for the next two seasons, up to and including 2011. The renewal of the deal also means the extremely popular ‘Oakley Rolling O Lab’ product demonstration truck will once again be present at Laguna Seca and Indianapolis, as well as at select European rounds this season. Oakley has become associated with the premier class of motorcycling through its affiliation with MotoGP which began at the start of the 2008 season, when it was appointed as MotoGP sunglasses supplier, and the association has enjoyed great success in its two years to date. “Oakley is very proud to announce that our relationship with Dorna is progressing with the introduction of our MotoGP line of eyewear, which is comprised of four sunglasses models,” said Oakley MotoGP Sports Marketing Manager, Giovanni Balestra. “Oakley has supported MotoGP riders from the beginning, and becoming a partner of the Championship was the next step. MotoGP is the top race series for the two-wheeled motorsports industry, and this is a quality the sport shares with Oakley the premier global eyewear brand. It makes this the perfect match.” Managing Director of Dorna Sports, Pau Serracanta, said: “We are delighted to secure the continued presence of Oakley in the MotoGP World Championship, and even more so to extend the partnership to incorporate a line of MotoGP co-branded sunglasses. Oakley is a brand that conveys the values of modernity, style and innovation, all of which match perfectly with those of MotoGP.”
