Cupertino, CA (16 July, 2008) Back for its eleventh consecutive year, Ducati Island continues its tradition of being the premier race destination at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. A staple of the Ducati experience at the legendary circuit, Ducati Island is open to all motorcycle enthusiasts. On the Island, Ducatisti and race fans will experience special exhibits, partner vendors, autograph sessions, the legendary Ducati Fashion Show, and much more. Ducati owners who display their current Ducati registration or proof of insurance and photo ID will receive extra benefits such as Ducati parking, gear check and hospitality. ATTRACTIONS AND EVENTS INCLUDE: Ducati Superbike Concorso The second round of the Ducati Superbike Concorso kicks off Friday morning at 10:00. The Concorso Superbikes will be on display throughout the entire weekend, with the winners being announced during Sunday’s lunch break. Ducati Showroom Come see some of the latest Ducati motorcycles including the Desmosedici RR, 1098 Superbike, 848 Superbike, Monster 696, Hypermotard 1100 S and more. In addition to the 2008 model line there will be three very special bikes in the Ducati performance display: an “R” spec custom 848; the infamous Martini 1098 S; and a Monster 696 featuring custom “sharpie” graphics by Roland Sands Design. Ducati Apparel and Accessories Store Southern California Ducati will be Ducati’s apparel and accessories vendor on Ducati Island, offering the latest Ducati Performance clothing and accessories. Autograph Signing Many famous Ducati riders will be signing autographs throughout the weekend, including Cook Neilson, Doug Polen, and Larry Pegram. Casey Stoner, Marco Melandri, and Sylvain Guintoli will also be on hand to sign autographs. Times will be announced on the Island. Ducati Vendor Row Select vendors will be displaying products oriented towards the Ducati enthusiast; including Café-Razzi, Foremost Insurance Group, Randy Owens Originals, Dental Art, and the ultimate in Oakley optics. Ducati Grandstand Seating Race fans can watch the races from Ducati Island, with a prime view of Turn 2. Ducati Island Food and Beverages There will be Italian themed food from the Ducati Café. Ducati Island DJ The Ducati Island DJ will be providing non-stop entertainment, music and information.
