MAN transports Ducati MotoGP racing bikes Seven MAN TGX 18.480 tractors have been delivered today in Borgo Panigale (Bologna) in the presence of Gabriele Del Torchio, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding Spa – Giancarlo Codazzi, CEO of MAN Truck & Bus AG – Paolo Ciabatti, MotoGP Project Director Ducati Corse and Andrea Dovizioso, official rider. The supply will be the “driving force” behind the Ducati Team in the MotoGP World Championship and will ensure transport of the semitrailers, both of the racing team (i.e. motorcycles, workshop service and parts) and hospitality units to all the circuits of the European season. Seven MAN TGX 18.480 tractors, with exclusive Ducati Corse red color, are the top-of-the-range vehicles of the German manufacturer: with XXL cab, the largest in its class, 480 hp (353 kW) 13-liter and six-cylinder in-line common rail turbocharged diesel engine and 12-speed automated gearbox. The tractors are “full optional” and include the following safety equipment: xenon headlights, ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) that automatically adjusts the vehicle’s speed to the vehicle ahead and LGS (Lane Guard System ) that alerts the driver when he is driving over the line of the lane. Attention to safety is one of basic elements of MAN Truck & Bus philosophy, even more so when you have the responsibility to transport goods as precious as racing bikes. The MAN TGX tractors have been particularly equipped internally, with large use of black leather for seats, door panels and steering wheel, all embellished with red stitching. The upper part of the dashboard is finished in “carbon”, and last but not least for driver comfort and entertainment the MAN Truck Media Advanced and MAN sound system for high quality music playback and a satellite navigator specific for commercial vehicles. The MotoGP World Championship is the highest category of motorcycle road racing in circuits; the 2013 edition will take place over 18 rounds in four continents, including 11 races in seven major European countries (Italy, Germany, Great Britain, France, Spain, Holland and Czech Republic). Ducati’s involvement in MotoGP began in 2003, with Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss, who took the Ducati Desmosedici to its debut in Japan. In the last decade the Borgo Panigale Team has obtained 33 victories, winning the world Riders’ and Manufacturers’ title in 2007 with Australian Casey Stoner. This year, the Ducati Team will participate in the MotoGP championship with Andrea Dovizioso, the 26 year-old Italian rider from Forli on his debut with the Desmosedici GP13 and Nicky Hayden, 31 year-old American from Kentucky, in his fifth season with Ducati colors. More, from a press release issued by Yamaha MotoGP Team: Yamaha Factory Racing is delighted to announce the renewal of its partnership with IVECO for 2013 as an Official Sponsor to the team. The five final rounds of the 2012 MotoGP season highlighted the success of the current partnership with the Yamaha Factory Racing team carrying a special logo on the tail of the YZR-M1 to celebrate the IVECO Stralis Hi-Way receiving the important award for 2013 Truck of the Year. This renewal marks the sixth year of collaboration between the team and the premium industrial vehicle manufacturer. IVECO’s involvement provides key support for the team in the form of four new IVECO Stralis Hi-Way units to transport Yamaha Factory Racing to all European races through 2013. The IVECO logo will appear on both Yamaha Factory Racing riders’ YZR-M1s as well as on all team equipment. Lin Jarvis Managing Director, Yamaha Motor Racing “As an important partner for Yamaha Factory Racing this is a very welcome continuation of a collaboration started in 2008. We have won four World Titles together with IVECO, and are pleased they will continue to be an important partner with us, providing us with our team’s essential transport needs.
