Second home race for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team in Misano

With the first half of the season in the books, the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team is ready to get back on track for the eighth round of the WorldSBK championship in Misano, which will host the second race of the year on Italian soil. As in Imola, the team is eager to put on a show and achieve the best possible result in front of its supporters with Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano, who currently sit in third and fourth position respectively in the championship.

In preparation for the race, just after the Donington round, the team spent two days testing on the track titled to Marco Simoncelli to continue the development of the chassis and electronics of the Panigale R and further tailor the basic setup to Davies and Giugliano’s needs, with positive results especially in terms of consistency with used tyres.

Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #7)

“It’s good to go into Misano having tested there a couple of weeks ago. We at least got a headstart with some of the work usually done early during the race weekend, such as gear ratio and basic setup. The track has not changed much, it’s still in great shape after the resurfacing done last year, and we also introduced a couple of new components that turned out to be positive and should help us a little bit in the race. Last year I had my first podium in Misano, but we’re looking for something more this time and will try our best to put on the same display as in Imola for our supporters.”

Davide Giugliano (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #34)

“Misano is a track that I really like. Last year we were able to have a couple of strong races there, and this time we can also count on a two-day test during which we posted some good lap times. Our rivals are competitive everywhere, but the data gathered a couple of weeks ago could represent a key variable. Together with the team, we’re working well on the basic setup of my Panigale R. We got some important confirmation during the tests, and now we just need to make one more step to gain the couple of tenths on race pace that can make a difference in the long run.”
