The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team heads back to Europe, next stop Donington for Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano
The circuit located in the East Midlands represents the “home track” for Chaz Davies, who stepped on the podium in both races last year and is as determined as ever to further cut the gap in the championship, where he currently trails by 42 points. Giugliano is also ready to confirm the progress made with the team, culminated with a second position in Sepang, on a track where he took a historic first pole position for the Panigale R in 2014. After six rounds, Davies (215 points) and Giugliano (118 points) are respectively in second and fifth position in the championship, while Ducati is second in the Manufacturers standings with 232 points.

“After Sepang, it’s finally time to race at home. It’s always nice to see everybody and ride in front of my family and friends, but on the other hand it’s just another race and it’s important not to get too carried away and to maintain the same approach. Our goal is, as usual, to be competitive from the very first session and keep improving throughout the weekend to finish in front. It won’t be easy to beat the competition, especially Sykes, but last year we already made a step in the right direction after a difficult 2014, and I believe that the different gearbox could give us some extra help. We have the potential to aim high.”
Davide Giugliano (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #34)
“Donington is a track that I really like, on which I usually managed to be quite fast, even though last year, in the few rounds I participated to, I only missed the podium there. We’ve been getting progressively closer to the front, and we analyzed in depth the data from Malaysia to gather some interesting indications. We need to build on the experience from recent races and the confidence gained after Race Two in Sepang to be even more competitive. Despite our speed in the wet, I hope the weather conditions are nice and stable because we can and we must score a good result in the dry as well.”
