Now that the year round race season is officially over in Southern California, the racing organization known as the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club (WSMC), posted the final results of the grueling 12-race 2006 WSMC season this week. ~http://willowspringsraceway.com/clubs/wsmc/Newsletters/Jan07News.pdf~ We at Sport Tire Services would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the riders of the 18 class Championships that were won on Dunlop Tires! Those class championships accounted for 52% of all classes raced at WSMC in 2006. We’d also like to announce, that the club’s overall year end points chase ended up as follows; #1st Overall, Brant Wiwi 610 points (Dunlop tires) #2nd Overall, Carl Lowery 591 pts (Dunlop tires) #3rd Overall, Jeff Stern 577 pts. (Dunlop tires) “2006 was our best year ever for race wins/results at Willow Springs!” said Dennis Smith, co-owner of Sport Tire Services, Dunlop’s race tire distributor for West U.S. “That makes it 7 years in a row, for Dunlop as WSMC #1 plate holder! We at STS would like to thank, Mr. Jim Allen (Dunlop’s Senior Road Race Mgr.) and his staff at Goodyear/Dunlop Tires NA, in Buffalo, N.Y. They really helped us out tremendously this year with great race tire product, service and contingency for our racers at Willow Springs Raceway. Also, contrary to what some may say, these days, anyone can have the same level of performance race tires that is winning in both the Superstock and Toyota Formula 1 events at WSMC. “We have several great friends/racers/partners, who worked very hard to make these results happen this year at Willow,” added Smith. Congratulations GUYS! Very well done! We look forward to partnering with you again in 2007, and we hope to see all of you at the awards banquet on Jan. 20th!”
