The first Jennings GP Endurance Race [held November 24 at Jennings GP, in Jennings, Florida] is in the books and was deemed a smashing success by all 30 of the teams that competed. The Florida weather was perfect for the 6 hours of racing on Saturday.
The two hour 250cc race showcased several great one on one battles in the first hour with 1st Republic of Speed (Ray Hoffman and Harrison Warren) taking the win. Double B (Bruce and Jody Barry) took second followed in third by a solo ride from Brian Mullins (aka “Tuna”) on the Bulbospongiosus bike. Several 250cc racers mentioned that this was their first endurance event and that they were now looking forward to more.
The four hour “Big Bike” event started after lunch with Dynoworks (Donny Wright and Gus Sanchez) taking the overall win as well as top Middleweight. Second overall and in the Middleweight class was TOBC 600 (Chuck Ivey, Nick McFadden and Jon Couch) followed by the A Team (Joseph Gianotto, Daniel Wallace, Jimmy Merck and Josh Murray) in third.
The Lightweight class saw TOBC 651 (Darrell Emerson and Brian Kcraget) run away with the win and third place overall followed by Team Jennings GP (William Brankin, John Cohorn, Chris Parrish and Travis Richards) in second and Ducati Depot (Kevin Farrell, Tom Eubanks and Chris Summons) in third.
Says TOBC team owner Jon Couch who fielded the overall second and third place bikes, “Many thanks go to Travis Richards and the operators of Jennings GP. They organized a first class endurance race with a larger grid than most of the sanctioned events this season. His passion for the sport brought out the teams and we were fortunate to have been included. We’re hoping that this is the first race of a long post season tradition.”
Jennings GP would like to thank all of the sponsors for this event: Street and Competition, Bridgestone (DB Motorsports), Pirelli, Dunlop, Michelin, Fluidology (G.M.D. Jacksonville, FL) and WERA Motorcycle Roadracing, Inc.
Next year’s event will be on November 23, 2013. Hope to see you there!
