Ellison aims high at home BOGDANKA PTR Honda racer James Ellison is targeting a podium finish in his home race, the second World Supersport round at Donington Park this weekend. The British rider, sixth in round one in Australia a month ago, is now recovered from the pre-season knee injury and keen to perform in front of his home fans. Following his retirement at Phillip Island, Ellison’s Polish teammate, Pawel Szkopek will be going for a point scoring position when the lights go out at 13:30 GMT this Sunday. James Ellison: “I tested at Mallory Park in England last week and set very good lap times while trying some new settings on my bike – it was a good step forward for us. My leg feels much better as well, I do not expect it to be holding me back at Donington at all. This is my first race in front of my home crowd and I will be giving it my all to get on the podium – we have the bike, team and rider to make it happen.” Pawel Szkopek: “I put a lot of pressure on myself at Phillip Island so I’m coming into the weekend with a different mindset but my goal is still to be in a points scoring position on Sunday. I don’t know the track that well – the last time I was at Donington Park, in 2008, it was wet in practice and dry for the race. I’m looking forward to working with my crew chief – who had to miss Australia – again and I’m sure it will be a good weekend for us.” Simon Buckmaster: “We’ve made good preparations at the workshop improving the bike from Australia to Doningon Park. The break gave James time to recover from his leg injury and he’s in a much better shape going into this weekend. James fighting for the win is our target everywhere we go to, so we’re looking forward to a strong result in front of the British fans. Pawel is eager to build on the promise he showed in Australia and he should be challenging for a solid points finish at Donington. “
