Edmonton Motorcycle Roadracing Association announces 2016 race season schedule.
The EMRA is western Canada’s largest and most competitive motorcycle road racing club. The 2016 season will be held at Castrol Raceway, the third season of racing at the new 14-turn, 2.7km-long track.
The EMRA looks to continue to grow and promote safe competitive road racing in Canada, with riders and classes ranging from novice open to expert Superbike. In 2015 the Expert Superbike title came down to the final round of racing. Four times defending Superbike Champion Justin Knapik was edged out by Mike Zottmann by a slim margin of two points. Both riders look to contest the 2016 title amongst a growing field of competition. The 2016 season will feature 7 rounds of racing from May to September. Each race weekend will also feature a track night for street riders and racers, hosted by Castrol Raceway the Friday prior to each round.
The 2016 competition schedule is as follows:
Round 1 May 28-29
Round 2 June 18-19
Round 3 July 9-10
Round 4 August 13-14
Round 5 September 2-3
Round 6 September 4
Round 7 September 17-18
