Is it just another technology startup company developed by some young computer code writer looking to attract investors and then cash out at the first opportunity? Not even close. To understand Energica one has to look at the history of its parent company, CRP Group, which traces its roots back to post-World War II Italy. That’s when CRP Group founder Roberto Cevolini’s father, Salvatore, an avid inventor, developed a machine that could refurbish bricks from bombed-out buildings so the bricks could be re-used to rebuild a devastated Italy.
Roberto Cevolini inherited his father’s innovative spirit and in 1970 started Roberto Cevolini & Co., which focused on machining high-precision parts for Formula One racing teams including Ferrari, which was located just 15 minutes away in northern Italy’s renowned ‘motor valley’ . . .
