Saturday, July 25th marks the 7th Annual Seattle 100 charity event benefitting The Nephcure Foundation. Over the last 6 years, Pacific NW riders have raised over $500,000 for Nephcure which supports research on a rare form of kidney disease that effects roughly only 5 out of every 100,000 children. Held at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA and hosted by 2Fast Motorcycle Track Days & Instruction, the Seattle 100 is an event like no other. Modeled around a track day format, the VIP Racers are introduced in Rockstar like fasion, guests and riders not only get to meet the racers, but also get to ride with them on the track. How many people can say they’ve ridden on the track with likes of past Seattle 100 VIP attendees such as Mat Mladin, Ben Spies, Aaron Yates, Jake Zemke, Jason DiSalvo, Aaron Gobert, Chaz Davies and Jason Pridmore and have pictures to prove it? Not that many, which is why the Seattle 100 is such a fun and worth while event. In addition to riding, fundraisers are treated to a 30 minute exhibition session by the pros, parade laps on the track for their children to ride pretty much anything motorized with 2 wheels with the VIPs, and an evening banquet with VIP interviews and ending in a live auction. Multi-time Seattle 100 attendee Josh Hayes is excited to be back again for 2009 “I look forward to this event each year. As racers we are either racing or testing, and this is one of the few times we get to play around and have a great time…plus support a great cause with Nephcure!” Danny Eslick and Jake Holden, known for their insane barrel racing antics on supermoto bikes at the Seattle 100, are both back again and eager to partake in the spirit of the event. Making her first appearance at the event this year, 15-year-old Elena Myers is stoked to support it and said “I’m really honored to have been given the opportunity to participate in the Seattle 100, this coming weekend. It’s all for a great cause and I’m really excited to be a part of it. It should be a lot of fun!” 2Fast and Nephcure are proud to have these four riders bring attention to the event and helping to advance the cause of Nephcure. You can learn more about the Seattle 100 event and Nepchure at www.seattle100.com and www.nephcure.org. Its not too late to signup for the event, which you can do off of the Seattle 100 website. We’d also like to thank all previous pro riders that have attended the Seattle 100, donated their time and energy, and often times donated many personal items to auction off. They’ve helped to make this event into something the Pacific NW riding community is very proud of and we are grateful to them for their help.
