WorldSBK and ESPN Brazil extend partnership for three years
The series to be broadcast in Brazil until 2018.
Major sporting TV network ESPN Brazil has extended the agreement with Dorna WSBK Organization to broadcast the FIM Superbike World Championship for a further three-year period (2016-2018). The top production-based motorcycle racing series in the world will be viewable all over the Brazilian territory in both English and Portuguese languages.
On TV, ESPN Brazil has three channels with the most comprehensive sports content. In 1989, ESPN was the first exclusive sports channel in Brazil and it is now present in 3.5 million homes.
This renewal consolidates and strengthens an already long-term partnership between Dorna and ESPN and helps maintain a key visibility of the series in a very strategic market for the motorcycle industry.
Manel Arroyo, Managing Director of Dorna Sports, TV and Media Area: “We cannot be happier in maintaining this strong partnership with ESPN Brazil and we are looking forward to even greater success in the upcoming years. Brazil is a country with a vast number of motorcycle racing enthusiasts, who will be delighted to watch the FIM Superbike World Championship. We will continue to collaborate in order to offer the Brazilian fans the best action.”
“We are constantly attentive to good broadcasting rights on the market. To renew with the Superbike World Championship, a leading motorcycling series and greatly disputed by many broadcasters, as always keeps our focus on the major events of each sport. It is very important to be able to continue providing for the Brazilian sports fans the Superbike World Championship for another three years on ESPN,” says Carlos Maluf, Director of Programming and Acquisitions of ESPN.
