BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Oct 19) For the first time in its history, WERA Motorcycle Roadracing will conclude its 40th season at Barber Motorsports Park with its annual Grand National Finals Oct. 25 – 28. The weekend’s activities will include a combination of practice and racing over the four-day period. “Barber has always enjoyed hosting WERA for its regional and national events, but the WERA Grand National Finals is an event ZOOM and Barber Motorsports Park have sought for quite a while,” said Rick Humphrey, vice president of ZOOM Motorsports, the exclusive promoter at Barber Motorsports Park. “To be able to bring an event like the GNFs to Barber is a great way for us to finish up our spectator season. This event is just an added plus to an already full year of on-track activity and something we hope to have around for a long time.” Hundreds of racers from across the country will be at Barber to determine series-long championships. Throughout the season, riders have accumulated points during 37 different events at tracks ranging from Las Vegas to Barber earlier in the year. During the weekend there will be 37 different races beginning with Sportsman and Vintage racing Friday afternoon.
