Four Feathers Racing to field Steve Rapp on the #27 4FR Greeneracres.org/Toyota Trucks R6 at Auto Club Speedway 4FR with special guest Steve Rapp will look to improve on their very impressive first outing at Daytona. Running as high as fifth very late in the Daytona 200, the team now has developed a good working relationship. “a knee injury at Daytona wasn’t the ideal way to start the season but things usually happen for a reason” said Scotty Van Hawk “it just so happened that Steve ended up being available to fill in and we all worked hard with new bikes and very limited seat time and are very proud of our result” The R6 that Steve rode to a preliminary result of tenth place in the Daytona 200 was just built at the 4FR shop, in Indiana, in the closing days before Daytona and had never been ridden until he took it out very late in the first night practice. Unfortunately the gamble that was made to use only one set of tires didn’t quite pay off with the rear tire coming apart on the next to last lap, but Steve stayed out and secured the result only losing five positions. None of this would have happened without the forward thinking of AMA Pro Racing which allows for replacement riders in the case of an injury. “We have worked hard to build a competitive team with outside industry sponsors and lead the charge for the change of our sport.” continued Van Hawk “We will continue to build our team one step at a time and thankfully we have one of the most capable riders in the paddock on our R6” The team has set their goals high and plans on staying in the spotlight! More, from a press release issued by Paradigm Racing: (Braselton, Ga.) – Paradigm Racing is eagerly awaiting the second round of the 2009 AMA Daytona SportBike season following the two week post Daytona break. Rider Barrett Long had some productive downtime securing a second place finish at the Unlimited Grand Prix race at Palm Beach International Raceway. Long rode the same Ducati 1098R that he competed on for the first round of the 2009 AMA Superbike series at Daytona International Speedway on March 5th. The long cross country trek is made that much easier by the spectacular finish that the team had at Daytona. The hard fought sixth place finish kicked off what will be an amazing season. The double header this coming weekend at Auto Club Speedway will allow the team to really show the competitive spirit that has come to define them thus far. Long has quite a bit of experience at the track and is looking forward to the races ahead. “I’ve done quite a few laps at Fontana and really like the track layout. Again, I want to thank all of my team members for their wonderful performance at Daytona. The job they did made my side of things that much easier and allowed me to concentrate on just the riding aspect. However, Fontana is what we are all focusing on now and I can’t wait to get back on my Paradigm Racing Yamaha R6.” For more information on Paradigm Racing including sponsorship opportunities check out www.paradigmracing.net.
