The 2010 season’s last two GPs are coming up for the JiR Team, and the next will be the GP of Portugal on the Estoril circuit, a track that is slow but with one very fast corner and a long straight. Our two riders Simone Corsi and Alex De Angelis will race with different objectives but with the same determination to perform well as the season comes to its climax. Corsi is still challenging for the championship’s overall top five, being caught between Luthi’s fourth place (+ 14 points) and Cluzel’s sixth (- 16 points). He will need to hard fight for fifth position, after the three overseas races that didn’t bring the expected results. The rider’s determination will need to be set to the highest levels to end up in a positive way in this, his debut season in Moto2. Alex De Angelis on his side arrives in Portugal after a fantastic win in the last GP of Australia, giving him a renewed positivity and a feeling with the MotoBI that has been positive since the very beginning, in fact he has been one of the top competitors in all the Moto2 races he has raced in so far. Simone Corsi “I made a good recovery from the Phillip Island crash, I just feel some little pain in my leg but nothing to be worried about. I came home from the Far East trip not so satisfied about the results, now I’m really anxious to end the season with good performances. Fourth place is achievable and I need to give maximum in the final efforts to reach this target. The machine shows a high level of competitiveness, as Alex showed with his recent results, therefore for the last two races we will take care to get the correct set-up to adapt to the track, without any important modifications. I’m happy we end the season with Estoril and Valencia as I like these tracks, they need to be rode technically although they’re not very fast at all.” Alex De Angelis “I came back from the long overseas experience with two trophies, one is a first place, so I cannot be anything except satisfied for the work we’ve done and for the feeling I found with machine and team. Of course I can’t relax now: my mind is already looking at the last two appointments of the season as we need to finish in the best way the work we’ve done so far. I feel I have the right feeling for these two races, the machine is very competitive so we’ll work for a fine set-up and then it will be my duty to give the best on track. Estoril is a circuit I like, it has a long turn, that needs to be handled correctly so you come out fast onto the long straight, where our aerodynamics can make the difference.” More, from a press release issued by FTR MOTO: FTR MOTO CHASE POINTS HAUL IN PORTUGAL FTR MOTO is looking to add to its 2010 success with the M210 machine when the Moto2 World Championship reaches its 16th and penultimate round at the Estoril circuit in Portugal on Sunday. FTR is also aiming to take a step towards its target of all four permanent riders finishing in the top 10 of the Championship. At present Andrea Iannone sits in third place, two points adrift of second place, his team-mate Gabor Talmacsi is seventh while Alex Debon is 13th and Karel Abraham 15th the latter just 13 points behind 10th place. All arrive in Portugal after mixed fortunes in the three-race tour to Japan, Malaysia and Australia. Iannone continued his 2010 success with podium finishes in Sepang and Phillip Island on his FIMMCO Speed Up M210. Debon, on the Aeroport de Castello-Ajo Team M210, returned to some consistency with top 10 finishes in all three of the races with a best of fifth place in Malaysia. Abraham enjoyed a career-best and spectacular finish of third place in Japan on the Cardion AB Motoracing Team M210 and is now aiming to better that result in the final two rounds of 2010 at Estoril and Valencia before the Czech Republic rider moves to the MotoGP class in 2011. Gabor Talmacsi, on the second FIMMCO Speed Up M210 will be looking to recapture his consistency at the 2.597-mile Estoril venue after failing to score in the past three rounds. “We’ve worked with the teams since the last round in Australia and are optimistic that we can get them all into the top 10 of the Championship by Sunday evening in Valencia on November 7,” said FTR’s Steve Bones. He continued: “With the improvements to the M210 in recent weeks and the efforts of the teams and riders it’s left us all really looking forward to these final two rounds. The Estoril and Valencia events will also include a lot of talking about 2011 plans. “We’ve had interest from around half a dozen teams but we’re also keen to retain the highest level of support and, for that reason, we may well have to limit the number of FTR M211s on the grid.” More, from a press release issued by Pramac Racing Team: THE PRAMAC RACING TEAM BACK IN EUROPE FOR THE LAST TWO GRAND PRIX OF THE SEASON After the long transfer to Japan, Malaysia and Australia that has seen the riders compete for three consecutive Grand Prix in three weekends, the two wheels World is back in Europe for the last two seasonal events. The spotlight will be pointed also on the Pramac Racing Team that will field, during the last two races, a new rider to replace the Finn Mika Kallio who had in advance finished the season and his experience on the Pramac Racing Team bike’s because of is injured shoulder. The Team have chose to replace the inijured Mika with an experienced and international rider as Carlos Checa. The Spaniard has a huge experience in the Championship having taken part to more than two hundred races in fifteen years. Carlos has a good feeling with the Ducati motorcycles, in fact after being member of the official Ducati MotoGP Team, he had race the entire season of this year in the Superbike World Championship riding a Ducati derivative of the series. Thanks also to Carlos, the Prama c Racing Team will be able to have another record, in fact, the Team will have the youngest and the oldest rider of the MotoGP. The different of age between them is more than seventeen years. For Aleix is the absolute debut on the Portuguese track riding a MotoGP: the best result obtained by the rider on this track was during the 2008 season when the young Catalan was riding a middle class bike of the 250 cc, he had conquer an eleventh position after a good race weekend. Carlos, who has raced on this track for eight consecutive years first 500cc and then in MotoGP, had conquer a superb second place in the 2002 after starting the race from the pole position, while the previous year had won a good fourth position after a good race that had seen him overtake four positions. Sunday will take place on Estoril’s track the eleventh Portuguese Grand Prix, that has been now a fixed stage of the MotoGP racing. The Pramac Racing Team, had conquer on this track, the second-position with Tamada during the 2004. During recent years, unfortunately the results haven’t been so positive, the best Team result was the eleventh position conquered by Hofmann in the 2006. Last year, the Italian rider Canepa had finished the race in thirteenth position, while Kallio had withdraw the race just after a few laps from the start. The hope is that the current riders will be able to significantly improve the results of the last years and that they can be able to conquer a good position in the race. Paolo Campinoti – Team Principal Pramac Racing Team “After three consecutive October’s races in which we haven’t certainly had good performance, we’ll be back in Europe for the last two Grand Prix of the season. We will be the only Team in the premier class to have a couple of Spaniards riders. Another curious fact is that the couple will be formed by the youngest and the oldest rider of the Championship. The results on Estoril’s track were not exciting for our team in recent years, this is one more reason to give up and redeem. The hope is that both riders will be able to mark a good end of season and that they will conquer some good race positions. As in every Grand Prix, we aim to gain a top ten position with both bikes. ” Aleix Espargar – Pramac Racing Team “After the eighth position that I was able to conquer during last Grand Prix of Australia, I’ll try to confirm the top ten even for the last two Grand Prix of the season. Unfortunately for me it is the first time that I’ll be able to race a Grand Prix on this circuit with a MotoGP bike, my objective is to make as many lap as possible on this track so that I can be able to acquire more information and then try to have a better performance during qualifying session and the race. ” Carlos Checa – Pramac Racing Team “After three years of absence I’ll return to race in the MotoGP world with a Ducati. Of course the bike with the number 71 on the livery and the Pramac Racing Team colors, will be very different from the one I have been able to ride during this year, but I’ll do my best to repay the trust and the choice that the Italian Team has placed in me. I do not feel any pressure, I’ll just have to go on track and have fun to do my job. This will be a great adventure for me. “
