Team HRC with Japan Post won the 45th Coca-Cola Suzuka 8-Hours endurance race by a slender 7.860 margin over Yamalube YART Yamaha EWC. Honda received a 40-second penalty for a pit-stop violation but remained on top. It was Honda’s 30th win in the endurance classic. Takuma Takahashi, who rode with MotoGP winner Johann Zarco and Teppei Nagoe for the winning squad, notched his record-breaking sixth win in the 8-Hours.
