Femmoto 2007 bigger than ever! The 6th edition of Femmoto adds a traditional track day, another brand and adds street demos to the mix at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Femmoto, the track day and motorcycle demo event that celebrates female riders is growing in both schedule and features for 2007. Event sponsors include Aprilia, Buell, Ducati, Joe Rocket, Harley-Davidson, Hein Geircke’s G-Line, Icon, Kawasaki , KYMCO, Michelin Two Wheel, Parts Unlimited, Red Bull, Repsol and Scorpion. With a full schedule of demos on track, a dirtbike school, street demos, vendors and a party Saturday night, Las Vegas will be the industry hot spot on October 5-7th, 2007. Continuing the tradition hosting female motorcycle enthusiasts in a nurturing and safe environment, Femmoto 2007 welcomes industry leader Harley-Davidson in joining returning manufacturers Aprilia, Buell, Ducati, Kawasaki , and KYMCO to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway now for three days of action. “We are so excited about this year,” says Bonnie Strawser, Femmoto Director. “We have so much going on that we expanded to three days of on-track, off-road and street demos, and brought the traditional Saturday night reception to the fabulous Neon Garage located right at the speedway as well as adding hospitality tents at the demo site. This year is going to be awesome, and I am really looking forward to meeting all our new and returning attendees.” Harley-Davidson is the newest brand to participate at Femmoto. Offering street demos on a variety of Big-Twin and Sportster motorcycles, the Motor Company will also host demos on the track for the performance-oriented VRSC models. Buell Motorcycles will likewise offer street and track demos to expand riding opportunities on their Ulysses, Lightning, Firebolt and Blast models. “Buell and Harley-Davidson have motorcycles that appeal to a wide variety of female riders,” says Harley-Davidson Communication Manager Leslie Prevish. “Femmoto attendees are important and vocal riders in their local riding communities. The Motor Company believes this is an important event to keep us close to the female customer and continue improving our products and services to meet – and exceed – her needs.” Adding street demos to the schedule increases opportunities for additional attendees and a wider variety of motorcycles than ever before. Kawasaki will in fact bring out three series of motorcycles for the first time “Femmoto is a great event for Kawasaki and we are very pleased to be supporting the program for the fourth year in a row.” said Kawasaki Public Relations Manager Jan Plessner. ” We receive feedback throughout the year from many of the women who attend this event. And now with the addition of street bike demo rides, we will be able to feature bikes like our brand new Vulcan 900 Custom cruiser. This bike is super popular among women. So now women can ride sportbikes on the track, cruisers on the street and top it off with the Kawasaki MSF Dirt Bike School . It’s going to be an epic weekend for female riding enthusiasts.” With Italian Brands Aprilia and Ducati returning for 2007 the variety of factory-sponsored machines is awe-inspiring. “Aprilia has supported Femmoto since the first event,” says Aprilia Marketing Manager Mike Kull. “This event is a staple on our calendar and shows the commitment we have to exposing Aprilia to every enthusiast we can. Ducati Advertising & Brand Manager Sian Goad looks forward to Femmoto track time with other enthusiasts. “Ducati is a perfect choice for female riders. The beautiful design of the bikes makes them attractive to the female rider then the light weight, low seat height and low center of gravity makes them approachable. But they really understand what makes a Ducati so different when they roar off on the test track – their face lights up and it’s a moment of realization of what all the hype is all about. Femmoto is a great opportunity for female riders to experience a glimpse into the world of Ducati.” For the first time at Femmoto men will have a chance to take to the track as well. Friday features a traditional track day designated as the “Femmoto Couples day”. With so many sport-bike oriented couples attending the event in years past, adding in a bonus track day was an obvious solution to create the ultimate motorcycle event for couples. “We have plenty of men attend Femmoto but with their girlfriends and wives,” says Monte Lutz of Sportbike Track Time. “We had several requests to add a traditional track day, and as STT hosts over 200 track days a year, adding this one to the schedule only makes sense.” The Friday “Femmoto Couples day” is reserved first for female attendees of Femmoto and their significant others on their own machines. “Now guys will have more to do than just be umbrella boys!” added Lutz. Additional sponsors cater to participant equipment needs and on-site comfort. Hein Gericke’s G-Line is sponsoring the pit area and Saturday banquet and fashion show to be held for the first time on-site at the Speedway. Parts Unlimited sponsors the Hospitality tent and lunch for the weekend, and Red Bull will be on hand with additional refreshments and to promote the 2007 Moto GP at Laguna Seca Raceway. Every year Femmoto has sold out early.
