Faasst Motorsports will no longer operate Pueblo Motorsports Park, in Pueblo, Colorado, effective January 1, 2016, according to a posting on the group’s website.

At the end of 2012, the city of Pueblo issued a Request For Proposal (RFP) seeking groups interested in operating Pueblo Motorsports Park and promoting drag racing and road racing at the multi-use facility without any subsidies from the city. The RFP offered the new promoter a five-year contract including three one-year options for the city of Pueblo.

Faasst Motorsports was the only bidder, won the contract and has been operating Pueblo Motorsports Park since 2013.

According to Faasst Motorsports, it wanted to continue operating Pueblo Motorsports Park and had secured funding to provide significant enhancements to the facility. In exchange, Faasst Motorsports wanted a “long-term” lease, according to its website. Pueblo, however, turned down the offer and plans to issue a new RFP for Pueblo Motorsports Park in January.

On its website, Faasst Motorsports stated that it will not submit a new bid to run the track.

MRA had two events scheduled at Pueblo Motorsports Park in 2016.
